Gillette

Gillette Tires was a historic American tire brand that originated with the Gillette Safety Tire Company, founded in 1916 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin by Raymond B. Gillette. It initially produced automobile, truck, and bicycle tires along with inner tubes and rubber goods, and became known for its robust, reliable tyre products and strong regional presence in the early 20th century. The brand’s imagery, including the “bear for wear” symbol, emphasized durability and resilience under demanding conditions. Over time the company grew, was acquired by the U.S. Rubber Company in 1940, and eventually the Gillette name disappeared from the tyre market as the industry consolidated and brands were phased out by larger manufacturers.
