It was established as a joint venture between HELLA, a global automotive supplier, and TMD Friction, a brake friction manufacturer. In 2024, HELLA acquired TMD Friction's share in the joint venture, becoming the sole owner. From October 1, 2024, Hella Pagid brake products will be marketed under the HELLA brand.
